Former Heavyweight champions Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis and Gene Tunney traded their gloves, robes and trunks for military attire on this attractive 1942 Chicago Sun-Times portfolio. The dated 10/11/42 supplement measures nearly 30 x 15" when unfolded and nearly 10x15" per boxer when folded. Despite moderate fold stresses and obverse paper wrinkling, these World War II veterans from their respective branches present impressively with vivid color detailing. The blank reverse does exhibit two spots of staining which does not protrude the obverse. Ideal for prominent display.
