Hampered by poor grades and rendered ineligible at Arkansas State University, former defensive tackle Darren Benson showed his stuff for the 1993 and 1994 Trinity Valley Community College Cardinal, where he wrested the attention of the Dallas Cowboys. This professional model Dallas Cowboys jersey was issued during training camp, likely to Benson, prior to the 1994 season. The blue mesh-dazzle cloth blend pullover garment features “64” on the front, back and shoulders in gray and white appliqué, with “BENSON” on a nameplate in white appliqué atop the back number. Blue stretch ribbed knit lines the V-neck collar and sleeve endings. The vented left front tail is home to an “Apex” label, a swatch denoting “94” and flap tags respectively denoting size “52” and “LONG.” The jersey shows light wear. The assessment that this was worn in training camp stems from the fact that no Cowboys player wore “64” between 1988 and 1999.
