Perhaps it was the 49-degree temperature? Maybe it was the last-place opponent? Or quite possibly, it was the realization that their team would ultimately revert to its losing ways? Whatever the case, a sparse crowd of 7,290 showed up at Cleveland’s cavernous Municipal Stadium for the May 15, 1981 Friday night home game between the first-place Tribe and visiting Toronto Blue Jays. Well, those die-hard Indians enthusiasts were treated to an absolute pitching masterpiece by Len Barker, who needed a mere two hours and nine minutes to author the eighth perfect game in modern Major League history. Encapsulated and Graded NM 7 by PSA, this full ticket was issued at Municipal Stadium for Barker’s flawless performance. The lone specimen at its plateau with only two graded higher, this historically significant voucher is signed by Barker in black marker. Like his performance that night, Barker’s autograph projects (“10”) strength and clarity. The ticket features printed seating/event details and a “Chief Wahoo” logo. Perforations are sturdy and edges/corners are razor sharp!
