Drastic changes in the American culture, economy and sporting landscape were rife between the presidential tenures of John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan. And in between, Pete Rose delivered a record 4,256 career hits. In a face to face meeting with at least one chief executive, Rose and the President posed for an autographed this photograph. Captured during Jimmy Carter’s 1976-1980 term, this 8 x 9-7/8” color photo portrays the smiling pair clad in suit coats and neckties. Both have rendered black marker signatures projecting (“10”) strength and clarity, with Rose having inscribed “Looking Good.” Indeed. This is a fitting coupling, as, two decades later, Carter wrote a convincing essay entitled "Time To Forgive Pete Rose." Cert/sticker from JSA.
