Interesting two-page Alexander Cartwright "letterpress" used to archive his correspondence. This nineteenth century version of the carbon copy replicated a letter to Capt. Edward A. Randolph. The prolific Cartwright addressed this letter in 1873 from his decades long home in Honolulu. It is difficult to discern the content or theme of the letter although no baseball content is evident. As a "founding father" of baseball, Cartwright material will be of interest to baseball historians and archivists alike. A crisp 4x6 photograph from the National Baseball Library and Archive accompanies.
