From the NBA’s formative years, these (6) 5x3 index cards showcase vintage scriptings of some of basketball’s earliest greats. Executed in ballpoint on scraps from a 1956-57 basketball publication, the autographs average (“9”) potency and include: Ed Fleming, John Kerr, Don Meineke, Dolph Schayes, Paul Seymour and Maurice Stokes (d.1970, full JSA). Individual JSA certs.
The Stokes signature is among the toughest, if not the toughest, in the realm of Basketball Hall of Famers. Having earned Rookie of the year honors for his efforts in the 1955-56 campaign, Stokes was to earn All-Star status in each of his three seasons before a head injury in the 1957-58 regular-season finale tragically ended his promising career and left him paralyzed for the rest of his life.
