Hatched in Baltimore in 1954, the Orioles were quick to part with their St. Louis Browns components and establish themselves as a Major League power. This warm-up jacket was worn by one of those “Baby Birds” between 1955 and 1963. The black satin-like button-down garment features custom-hemmed short sleeves, a 3-3/4”-wide collar and a metal clasp to secure the left and right front tails. There are two front pockets and a cartoon Bird logo sewn to the left breast in black, orange and white with both embroidered and felt materials. Within the collar, a partially detached “Wilson” label denotes size “48.” The all-original Birdland apparel shows moderate wear. Simply put: an amazing survivor of a seldom-seen style!
