Armed with Hall of Fame pitcher Chief Bender, the 1915 Baltimore Terrapins had lofty aspirations in the upstart Federal League. These (7) vintage photographs portray Terrapins players from that 1915 roster. Appealing for their status as Federal League artifacts (which are incredibly rare in any condition), these examples are all the more alluring in that they are well-kept examples obtained from the Baseball Magazine archives. Measuring 4-5/16 x 6-1/4”, the sepia-toned photos include: Bender, Jacklitsch, McCandless, Suggs, Swacina and Walsh. Also included is an original news service photo (6-9/16 x 8-1/2”) of Buffalo and Baltimore skippers Schlafly and Knabe.
Note: the managers photo has a 1912-1915 "International News Service" stamping and handwritten editorial markings on the reverse. The photo shows evidence of newsroom handling is is aesthetically among the most enticing Federal League heirlooms you'll find.
