Trouble incorporated from both sides of the plate, Eddie Murray was deserving of MVP honors in several, if not all, of his glorious seasons in Baltimore. This Louisville Slugger (35.8-oz/35-1/2”) “R161” signature model bat was autographed and wielded by the Hall of Fame first baseman during the 1981-1983 labeling period. Graded GU 6.5 by PSA/DNA, the white ash war club shows heavy use and is signed above the barrel stampings in silver marker (“7-8” strength). Full photo LOAs from PSA/DNA and JSA. Evidence of excellent game use includes ball and cleat marks about the barrel, as well as stitch impressions and transposed blue-ink stampings from OAL MacPhail baseballs that Murray frequently put into orbit. There is checking and grain swelling on the hitting surface and a barrel break has been secured by an adhesive agent. The white ash weapon features a deep-brown hickory finish and hails from a three-year period during which Murray finished fifth, second and second in the American League MVP balloting.

The full photo LOA from John Taube, PSA/DNA attest to the authenticity of the bat only. The full photo LOA from JSA attests to the autograph’s authenticity.
