Description

“On the level” just two years prior to an exercise in self-imposed disgrace, the 1917 Chicago White Sox won their second-ever World Series title (and last before an 85-year drought ensued). Encapsulated and assessed “Authentic” by SGC, this ticket stub was issued at the Polo Grounds for Game 3 of that Fall Classic. A rare Deadball Era survivor, the voucher has a “GAME 1” printed identifier, signifying the first game at the National League site. Felled, 2-0 that afternoon, the White Sox lineup included six of the eight players that were to be banned for life for their involvement in the 1919 “Black Sox” scandal. This item has a reserve (estimated value: $1200-$1500).
