Description

Offbeat, manufactured and vintage items in attractive condition recommend this interesting array of 1930s-modern baseball display/memorabilia collectibles. Highlights are a 1940s “Sessions Model W” trophy mantle clock; 1950s barometer trophy; 1930s “Babe” Ruth bat pocketknife; c.1950s “occupied Germany” brass baseball clock; 1950s ceramic ball and glove lamp and (2) obscure desktop ball-shaped pendulum clocks. Also present are (10) beer steins; a Ted’s Root Beer thermometer; a carnival milk bottle game and (23) assorted items. More on our website.

Key pieces include:

Wooden Pinball Game: a miniature wooden structure with a Giants scoreboard and grandstand; metal bat lever and spring-activated plunger set pinball into motion with receptacles for triple, double, single and out. In complete working condition!

Framed Displays: includes (2) vintage sepia-toned team photos; each framed to 15-7/8 x 12-7/8”; a working thermometer displayed through a baseball-themed illustration of a boy and his dog (the boy frowning as his pet is not allowed admission) framed to 8-1/16 x 6-1/16”; and (2) different 16 x 12-1/2” vintage Topps Baseball Card ad displays (reproductions affixed to metallic backings)

(3) Baseball Clocks: includes: (2) identical time pieces; each stands 9-1/2”-tall with a round baseball clock face and tin hands/relief numeric identifiers. Each has a pendulum (neither appears to be working); and (1) 12-1/2”-tall electric “trophy” clock with glass-covered facing and wooden structure on which a gold-colored plate has the recipient’s name and “’49 Champs” engraved. Cord is attached but clock does not appear to be working.

Baseball Lamp: stands 9”-tall with porcelain glove/ball and cardboard lamp shade with baseball design; cord and on/off switch attached and in complete working order

Vintage Barometer Gauge: affixed to a wooden base measuring 9-1/8 x 4-1/8” with a gold-colored figurine and a plate with “1959 Consistent Hitter Award” engraving

Ted Williams Thermometer Display: a 12”-diameter plastic-covered facing with a colorful advertisement for “Ted’s Creamy Root Beer” and temperature readings from -40 to 120; dial appears to be functioning

Vintage Composite Doll: 7”-tall doll with flannel attire and papier mâché accents (back of head is dented with a small hole)

Carnival “Milk Bottle” Game: includes (6) regulation size 7-3/4”-tall steel milk bottles and (6) regulation-size baseballs. Oh, for those of you leery regarding the shady “carnies,” this set is on the up and up, as none of these bottles have lead bottoms.

(10) BASEBALL-THEMED TANKARDS: all are 7-5/8”-tall limited edition keepsakes; includes:

Ernie Banks: issued by Longton Crown, the ceramic mug features a metallic hinged top and baseball bat-themed handle. This one is entitled “Mr. Cub” and features colorful likenesses of the Wrigley Field icon

Lou Gehrig: issued by Longton Crown, the ceramic mug features a metallic hinged top and baseball bat-themed handle. This one is entitled “The Iron Horse” and features colorful likenesses of the pinstriped hero

Mickey Mantle: issued by Longton Crown, the ceramic mug features a metallic hinged top and baseball bat-themed handle. This one is entitled “The Mick” and features colorful likenesses of the switch-hitting Bronx staple

Willie Mays: issued by Longton Crown, the ceramic mug features a metallic hinged top and baseball bat-themed handle. This one is entitled “The Say Hey Kid” and features colorful likenesses of the Hall of Famer in both his New York and San Francisco days

Cal Ripken, Jr.: issued in 1996 by Longton Crown, the ceramic mug features a metallic hinged top and baseball bat-themed handle. This one is entitled “1982 Rookie of the Year” and features a colorful likeness of Ripken and a printed legend regarding his 1982 season with relief accents throughout. A gorgeous piece!
