Exquisite 1908 Art Post Card Co. “Our Home Team” Detroit Tigers team postcard. The obverse of the ephemeron depicts a black-and-white photo of a game in progress, above which is a flap which reads “Our Home Team.” Beneath the flap in a folded accordion fashion are (14) double-sided Detroit Tiger action photo captions measuring 2 x 2-1/4". Luminaries such as Cobb (with Downs), Crawford and Jennings are profiled. Postmarked on October 14th, the day in which the Chicago Cubs clinched their last World Series in franchise history. The pictures present (NM) while the crease-free surface exhibits mild corner wear. The correspondence section has fantastic baseball content. More on our website.
The note reads as follows:
Writing from Detroit. The "Cubs" are the greatest ever-am going to the game Friday.
Postmarked on October 14th, the day in which the Cubs clinched their last World Series to date. Unfortunately for the author of the postcard, there was no Friday game for the historic 1908 Fall Classic.
