With Pete Rose in the lineup in a player/manager capacity and Dave Pallone behind the plate, all was right during the September 8, 1985 contest between the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs. The 44-year-old veteran delivered career hits 4190 and 4191 that afternoon, tying Hall of Famer Ty Cobb atop the list with the most hits in Major League history. Encapsulated and Graded GOOD 2 by PSA, this full ticket was issued at Chicago’s Wrigley Field for that Sunday afternoon contest that saw Rose match Cobb’s mark. The voucher features printed seating and event details, as well as a Cubs team logo. This is the lone example at its tier with only four graded higher. The game ended in a 5-5 tie, incidentally, as darkness had set in after nine innings and night baseball was not introduced at Wrigley Field until 1988, the same year marked by an ugly confrontation between Rose and the aforementioned Pallone.
