Description

With three MVP awards and a World Series title on his impressive resume, Mike Schmidt stepped down from the game in an emotional farewell early in the 1989 season. During an era when physical strength was realized through hard work and conditioning, Schmidt retired with 548 career home runs, which, before the widespread use of performance enhancing drugs, was good for seventh on the all-time list. Encapsulated ad Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA, this ticket stub was issued at Philadelphia’s Veterans Stadium for the May 2, 1989 contest in which Schmidt launched the 548th and final circuit clout of his Hall of Fame career. The lone specimen at its tier with none graded higher, this crisp voucher features a colorful team logo and printed seating/event details on the obverse, with rain check details listed on the reverse. Showcasing razor sharp edges and corners, the historically significant keepsake presents even nicer than the technical grade suggests.
