Description

Kick up your heels for this 1950s-90s Baltimore Colts memorabilia lot of (13). MVPs are: 1960s bobbin head (GD-VG) with gold base; (2) 1960s Kail “Joe Jolter” ceramic figures with: 10” bank (NM-MT) and 5” mini-figure (NM). Additional highlights are: 1958 NFL Champs brass ashtray (EX-MT); Baltimore News-Post ceramic ashtray (NM) with 12/29/58 “COL(T)OSSAL” headline; 1971 Tudor Game: Colts-Cowboys Super Bowl electric football game (EX) in original box. More on our website.

The bobbin head doll has an NFL shield decal on the top of the base between the shoes, a Colts decal on the chest and a Baltimore decal on the front of the base. The metal faceguard is present and attached and overall the piece shows decent gloss and bold colors. The helmet has several cracks and chips mostly on the rear and the jersey shows moderate wear.

Both of the included Kail pieces appear to be MIJ pieces, the 10” bank includes the coin stopper on the bottom, however the bottom is without a manufacturer’s sticker. Both are very appealing and are marked “FAK, Fred A. Kail, Jr” on the back of the base along with a copyright symbol. The MIJ sticker on the bottom of the 5” mini piece is printed as “Made in Japan, Imported, Santa Claus Programs”.

The (2) ashtrays listed above were most likely produced in 1959 to commemorate the Colts 1958 NFL Championship 23-17 win over the New York Giants. Research on the ceramic ashtray revealed several examples of the Baltimore Sun version offered recently, however no examples of the included Baltimore News-Post version were discovered.

The 1971 Tudor game comes with the original instructions manual, (23/24) player cards including (2) place-kickers, (1) Cowboy player is absent. Also present are goalposts, crowd scene and scoreboard attachments, pennants, knobs, a felt football and the original parts paper bag. The 1971 booklet (VG) commemorating 1967-71 Super Bowls, that is pictured on the back of the box is also included. Power cord is attached. Playing field is very attractive with abundant gloss and vivid paint.

Also present are:

c.1958-59 Team-signed football does not hold air, signed by (32) average (“3-4”) signature quality with J. Unitas, A. Ameche, R. Berry. O. Braase, D. Joyce, G. Marchetti, J. Mutscheller, B. Pellington and (24) other members of the back-to-back Colts NFL Championship teams.

1970s Stadium seat: 12x12 with folding back (NM)

1975 “Mascots” bobble head: (NM-MT) in original box, appears to have been stored in the box with little indications of wear present. The box is bright and attractive with minor creasing at the corners and a small bit of sticker residue over the words “Bobble Head” at the top of the forward facing panel. The gold sticker on the bottom of the base is marked “Sports Specialties”

1971 Ceramic mug (NM) with 1/18/71 Baltimore Sun headline commemorating Super Bowl V Colts 16-13 win over the Cowboys.

1971 Avon bottle with Super Bowl trophy on top and Baltimore Colts helmet and horseshoe logo on front (EX-MT) with seal residue on sides of trophy.
