“The Greatest” by his own billing, Muhammad Ali was none too shy when it came to backing that self-imposed title. This framed display showcases an autograph as bold as its author, as well as a handwritten note with political content. Framed to 28-7/8 x 25-7/8”, Ali’s black marker cut signature shows (“8-9”) strength with his inscription reading: “The Play Boy – 6-21-91.” To the left, a handwritten note (entirely in Ali’s hand) accents the display, as do (2) photos of Ali punishing Sonny Liston. Individual full photo LOAs from JSA. More on our website.
The handwritten note reads (in full):
”In the Nation’s Capital. A senator said this, and it is in the records to be examined in effect. He said what would be the need of the Government appropriating money to educate”
All items are display beneath brown-on-beige matting and are flanked by “MUHAMMAD ALI” (upper border) and “THE GREATEST” (lower border).
