Description

The Yanks are comin’! The winningest franchise in American Sports is represented in this lot of (37) autographed 8x10 and 10x8 black-and-white photographs (with a few color photos). Suitable for framed display in any pinstripe-themed den, the photos are decorated with black or blue ink pennings that show (“9”) or better quality throughout. (2) Moose Skowron: 8x10 print of Skowron delivering an RBI single in the 10th inning of Game 6 of the 1958 World Series; signed in blue marker. A printed caption errantly declares that Skowron’s hit gave the Yankees the world championship. In reality, teammate Gil McDougald led off the inning with a home run to break a 2-2 tie. Skowron’s two-out hit did prove to be the game-winner, however, as Milwaukee tallied once in the home half of the inning. Regardless, the Game 6 victory tied the series at three games apiece.
