Description

See just how much athletes and attitudes have changed since the days when Basketball HOFer Claire Bee’s “Chip Hilton” series dominated the boys sports fiction scene. Offered is a near-set of (15/23) “original series” Hilton books published by Grosset & Dunlap. Featuring desirable dust jackets (average GD to VG+) this run of volumes 1 through 15 inclusive consists of first editions and re-issues from the 1950s period, all with soft red-brown tweed covers and art-style DJs. Highlights are (3) first editions: volumes 11, 14 and 15. More on our website.

All offered volumes are in very appealing condition with sturdy spines, clean covers and supple pages. As mentioned above all have similar cover and DJ details and the group presents handsomely as a matching set. Printing dates can be determined by the last volume listed on the back cover. All have previous owner’s name in pen at top of front flyleaf and a return address label on the title page.
