A Turner Field mainstay since his 2005 debut, Georgia-born backstop Brian McCann was issued and autographed this Superior Bat Company (31.8-oz/34-3/8”) “SS” black-letter weapon during his rookie campaign. The uncracked maple lumber features a cupped and black “Smith” finish. Between the manufacturer’s logo decal and barrel stampings, McCann’s silver marker signature projects (“9”) strength. The bat shows no game use and comes with a full photo LOA from John Taube, PSA/DNA (for bat authenticity), as well as a JSA sticker (for autograph).
The bat has a smooth, furniture-like finish and a silver marker notation of “31” on the cupped end (likely a weight designator). Along with his autograph, McCann has inscribed “16” and “Rookie Year 05 – Game Used.” The JSA sticker is for the autograph. An additional Radtke Sports LOA is signed by McCann and states that the bat was used by McCann during the 2005 season. John Taube’s PSA/DNA LOA, meanwhile, attests to the bat’s status as authentic and having been manufactured for McCann during the referenced labeling period, but refutes any game use.
