Description

Solidify your autograph collection with this cornerstone ball. Presented is a Reach OAL/MacPhail baseball signed by (3) 1974 New York Yankees including the very difficult Thurman Munson (d.1979). Displaying age appropriate signs of wear this vintage relicís authentic appearance is enhanced by warm walnut toning and scattered abrasions which have minimal impact on the autographs. The ball grades ("3") and the signatures average ("3-4"): north panel signers are Munson and G. Michael, the third signer W. Williams appears on the west panel. Full photo LOA from JSA. More on our website.

Research indicates this group of signers were Yankees teammates for the 1974 season only as Gene Michael ended his playing career with the Tigers in 1975 and Walt Williams was with the Yankees for the 1974 and 1975 seasons. Also present on the offered ball are notations written in an unknown hand which indicate the autographs were acquired during batting practice of game featuring the Yankees vs. the Rangers. South panel manufacturing insignia is faded but visible. A 1x1 abrasion is located to the right of the reverse sweet spot which shows heavy fading of the printed League and President lettering, this abrasion does not contact any of the signatures. Brown stitching is tight and complements the ballís toning nicely.
