Join the ranks of the well equipped with this incredible vintage baseball equipment treasure chest of (78). Dating from the 1900s-80s this collection of store/professional models includes (42) gloves, (22) bats, (4) catchers masks, (3) jerseys, (2) chest protectors, and one pair each of cleats, pants, stirrups, shin guards and socks. Highlights are: bats: (4) store models: Aaron, J. Robinson, Ruth and T. Williams; (3) c.1910s-20s: (2) Reach, Spalding; gloves: DiMaggio, Mantle and (2) Snider; other: c.1900s mask and (2) 1900s-30s chest protectors. All offered pieces are in attractive, display-worthy condition and show moderate to extensive signs of authentic use/wear unless noted. All appear to be period issued during an associated player’s active career when applicable. Items without player names are vintage early-mid 1900s models. J. Robinson H&B “Safe Hit” model with “14W” on the label (VG) with nail repaired handle crack (repair is excellent and unobtrusive), partially worn printed name on the barrel

Ruth Louisville Slugger (VG) with “33” on the knob and “40 BR” on the label, nearly full facsimile signature on the barrel which reads as “George “Babe” Ruth”

T. Williams H&B “Leader” model (VG-EX) with “No. 9” on the label, full printed name on the barrel

A.J. Reach (VG-EX) with deference to two chips on the knob, manufacturer’s name and model number “No 83” embossed in the area where the label typically is located, barrel is plain

Spalding (VG) with deference to screw repaired handle crack (repair is excellent and unobtrusive), manufacturer’s name and model number “B6” etched where label is typically located, barrel is plain

D&M “Major League Special model 52” (VG) with deference to unrepaired handle crack, handsome “dog and diamond” logo label

Winner “Regulatio No. 80” model (VG-EX) with deference to one chip on the knob

Tiger striped thick handled bat with a series of stripes on the barrel, no discernible manufacturer’s name, dynamic and appealing, however no technical grade due to two sections split off and absent from the barrel

Reverse label Louisville Slugger (VG-EX) with “J.F. Hillerich & Son” label, barrel is plain, measure 32” long and feels significantly heavier than bats of similar length

Pocatello Gems Louisville Slugger (EX) “S2” model

Unknown manufacturer (GD) with partially worn printed name “WILLIAMS” on the barrel

Spalding with jersey, pants and stirrups, size “36” jersey has “Mikado” lettering removed from front and has “Evergreen Groc. No. 2” red lettering present on back, jersey and pants shows light soiling, stirrups are red to match uniform accent stripes, overall very appealing condition

Howe jersey only, size unknown, shows light soiling, has “West End” lettering on front and “Claras Café” lettering on back, overall very appealing

Sanforized-Shrunk size “38” jersey only, has “Fort Leav.” Lettering on front, shows light soling and several small stains, overall appealing

Catchers masks:

c.1900s “birdcage” type frame only, no padding, light oxidation, very solid

(2) c.1920s-40s “spitter” type with A-frame mouth opening, both with padding and partially detached straps, leather padding on both is split in several areas with padding exposed

c.1940s Heavy frame with full padding and strap, thick black metal frame show extensive wear including sporadic paint loss and scuffing


(2) c.1910s-40s chest protectors both show authentic wear, one has thick leather padding with canvass and leather perimeter and is absent of straps with the letters “ST. L/G” handwritten inside, the other has thinner canvass padding with leather trim and partial straps

Shin guards pair, red hard surface with canvass padding and brass rivets, show extensive authentic use

Cleat shoes pair, black leather, size unknown, laces attached, metal cleats attached, shoes moderate wear, white soiled socks stuffed inside
